This year, ODMA was fated to be bigger and better than the 2013 & 2015 exhibitions, which were located in a smaller venue in Brisbane. This year Australia's largest optical exhibition was based in its hometown of Sydney and this time in a brand new venue, the ICC (International Convention Centre).
With the sign of a new and improved ODMA, Optique Line and Stepper Australia knew that their stands would need to pack a punch whilst still respecting the brands ethos of class and refinement.
The two stands were unified by the industrial and sophisticated style, utilising concrete effect walls and flooring with natural elements of timber and smoked glass feature lighting. The vertical pillars that seperated the two stands also doubled as frame displays. The six exquisite maple display cabinets divided over the two stands were designed to provide an example and inspiration to how optical retail stores can look and operate in both function and form.
Stepper Eyewear was thrilled to receive ODMA's Best Stand Award for Stands 54 sqm2 and under!
Stepper Australia had the honour of special guests, Stepper Eyewear's founder Hans Stepper, with Saskia Stepper and Michelle Ng on their stand for the duration of the event. The three guests tantalised visitors with their sense of humour, international business acumen and their collective industry wisdom.
As for the stand itself, the most notable attraction was the 4-meter bar which saw many visitors wetting their whistle with a champagne, wine or beer and every so often a water.
This impressive stand also included two intimate booths with interactive touch screens for individual discussions, an illuminated Stepper Eyewear etched window and a huge Stepper Logo set on the concrete effect floor.
Stepper Australia also launched their latest venture, ZEISS EYEWEAR. Exhibiting Frames designed, engineered and manufactured to reflect the values of the ZEISS brand. ZEISS EYEWEAR is a true collaboration of ZEISS and STEPPER's production expertise to create the finest quality men’s and women’s frames, constructed from the best materials to reflect the precision excellence of ZEISS.
The Optique Line stand worked in perfect harmony to the Stepper Eyewear space, with the same elements and frame displays. The point of difference was the "Big O' entrance and screens and the interactive hub which from a bird's eye view resembled a digital eye. The designers of the stand wanted to create a relaxed conversation space that also tied back to the optical theme. Within this central hub was the Virtual Reality booth. This included a Soccer game and a Roller Coaster experience which saw many screams and laughter from the visitors.
This stand was also used to showcase the superior marketing support and point of sale that each of the Optique Line brands provides to their supporting retailers. This included the Mersey Beat Point of Sale which was a finalist in the ODMA 2017 Awards of Excellence in the 'Product Environment' category.
So did ODMA 2017 live up to the hype? Yes, it most certainly did. Optique Line and Stepper Australia were inundated with visitors throughout the event and relished the opportunity to see all the friendly faces and meet the new ones.
We hope you all enjoyed the event and look forward to the next one.
